Don Toliver Philadelphia Concert reviews
boring
I have listened to this group's three CDs for a couple of weeks before attending the show and found some promise in some of the nice melodies they offer.
The live show, however, was disappointing. The tickets indicated an 8:00 PM start time, but they didn't begin playing until 11:30 PM. The warm-up act was terrible, making it feel like a karaoke session at a bar would have been more enjoyable.
Impressively, the crowd at the show was quite wholesome, with mostly teenagers who were clean-cut and few had piercings or tattoos. Given their demographic and pop/mellow synths style, a name change might attract larger crowds.
To enhance their performance, the band could benefit from adding some choreographed dancing or other visual elements on stage. This would inject energy and make the show more memorable.
While some fans may not like this feedback, it is valuable for improvement. "Don Toliver" has talent but needs to learn how to command the stage. Clear display of performance times on tickets would also be appreciated to avoid unwanted acts in the future.
The Masquerade is a wonderful venue for seeing bands up close, with no complaints from me! :)
